Each year City of Lights attracts an audience of 30,000 people, serenaded by at least 100 local musicians and dancers and showcasing over 600 lanterns, made by local artists, school children, college students and community members. In 2016, the parade celebrated its 20th anniversary and still it remains true to its original aim, which is to use simple materials (withy and paper) to create lanterns large and small, which are made by the local community.

The theme for 2017 is 'Glow' and we look forward to seeing how this is intepreted.

We are currently working towards this years event which involves a significant amount of fundraising and developing relationships with the local community, businesses and creatives. Would you like to volunteer to help fundraise or support the night's festivities? Please sign up here.

To deliver a quality experience which is safe and enjoyable we need to raise £50,000. Over the past 20 years, Truro's City of Lights has received significant financial support and resource from Truro City Council and Totally Truro (BID) and funding from Arts Council England and FEAST. Each year funding becomes increasingly challenging to apply for and therefore the support from local businesses and donations from the community seem even more important. If you think you could support this annual event through sponsorship, donations, fundraising through volunteering, offering a skill or resource, the team would love to hear from you. Please contact Charlotte Davis.

If every spectator donated £2, this event would continue each year. You really could make the difference! To TEXT donate 'COLT17 £2' to 70070.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to making, fundraising and parading with you.
